Donations

The primary fundraiser for the foundation is a tri-annual golf tournament.

But citizens and businesses can donate either through this site or by dropping off checks at the Brookhaven Police Department. All checks can be made payable to “The Brookhaven Police Foundation.”

In the check memo section, please indicate which program below you would like to support or if it is a general donation.

How We Support the Brookhaven Police DepartmentThe foundation supports the department in 3 primary ways.

  1. Scholarship Fund Program
  2. Emergency Fund Program
  3. Equipment and Training Program

Your donation can be directed towards any or all of these programs.

Scholarship Fund ProgramThrough this program, the foundation makes available funds for college and graduate education and for courses of study leading to
professional skills improvement. Only officers and employees of the Brookhaven Georgia Police Department and members of their immediate family (spouses and
children) are eligible.

To date, the foundation has donated over $60,000 in scholarship funds.

Emergency Fund program. Through this program, the foundation makes available funds to offset economic hardships befalling officers and employees of theBrookhaven Georgia Police Department and their immediate family members (spouses and children). Such hardships may result from illness or injury, natural disasters, fires
or other damage to home and contents. The funds to be distributed pursuant to this program will serve to benefit individuals but will generally be paid to service or product
providers (hospitals, doctors, contractors, etc.) rather than being paid directly to
individuals.

Equipment and Training Program
The foundation also has, as part of its purpose, to create and fund an Equipment and Training Program to assist the Brookhaven Georgia Police Department
by providing funds for the purchase of police and public safety equipment for the use by
that Police Department. Funds may also be utilized to pay for training for police and public safety courses to benefit the Police Department.

For example, the foundation has funded the purchase of two K9s, including funding their training and care.
